周边传动刮泥机驱动装置推动杠杆带动刮板以一定的速度匀速向集泥槽方向运动。同时刮板的凹面将污泥推向污泥集泥槽。刮板运行约750mm后,刮板达到极限位置,开始返回。当刮泥板作返回运动时,其速度是前进速度的两倍,由于惯性,池底的污泥顺着刮板的斜面向上爬升,当污泥达到刮板顶部时,由于刮板前方的凹面对污泥有抽吸和负压作用,从而加速污泥的沉淀,使污泥回落到沉淀池的底部。
